Google it, and found they are apparently gross little worms that eat the leaves from the inside, leaving a colorless shell. I think vigilantly picking off the affected leaves seems to be doing the trick. It might be a fungus, either something water-borne or something that blew in when the leaves were wet and stuck. Yellowing that is related to nitrogen deficiency would start low on the plant and creep from the outer edge of the leaf inward, not just in random patches as we see here.
