Resolution-y

I went to the gym this afternoon. It felt good, though I could definitely tell that it's been too long. I took a shower afterwards, and I am feeling more awake and more ready to have a good evening than I have in a while.

Here's what I think:
  • exercise releases endorphins which make you happy. this is a known fact. i think.
  • showering makes you feel good. makes me feel good, at least.
  • going to the gym/showering from 3:30-5pm is the perfect way to break up my afternoon.
  • showering at work means I don't "have" to shower at home, which is good when I have a list of things I want to accomplish in the 4 hours between getting home and going to sleep!
Now I will go home, and I WILL organize/clean out my hutch (on my to-do-list for yesterday, but I was taking care of The Boy, who was feeling sick...excuses, excuses)!!!

  1. Yes, known & proven fact. Exercising once will lift your mood (release endorphins) immediately. Regular and on-going exercise will lift your mood in longer-term ways. I absolutely notice it when I slack off - it's part of why I prefer to walk to the bus in the morning, and why I've been trying to walk on campus a lot.
